Write a letter to the editor of a local daily educating the people about consumer awareness in India.
Answer:
Number 17 Adejoke Street,

23rd August 2020.
To the editor,
The Mumbai Daily.
EDUCATING PEOPLE ABOUT CONSUMER AWARENESS
Dear Mr. Sharma, there is a need for consumers to be aware of what goods they are purchasing and have adequate information so they can make a better decision before making a purchase.
Recently in Mumbai, there have been various instances where a company does not inform potential customers about dangers, side effects and other risks associated with their product and the consumers end up getting what they do not expect. There was this case of a consumer buying a product without properly listing the contents and someone bought the product and had an allergic reaction because he was allergic to nuts, which was one of the major ingredients of the product.
I strongly believe that some stringent laws need to be put in place so that companies can properly educate customers on the content of their product so that they would be more aware of the product.
Yours sincerely,
Raju Sumesh

Answer:
My gorgeous queen, you inspire me to write.
I love the way you kiss, marry and shine,
invading my mind day and through the night,
always dreaming the way you smile
Let me compare you to a pretty starry night sky?
You are more beautiful, breath-taking and pretty.
Your cuteness drowns me whenever you smile,
July summer time has the koninklije
How do i love you? Let me count the ways,
I love your timid, freaky beauty, love and heart
thinking of your innocent love fills my days
my love for you is the component part
Now i must away with a peaky heart,
remember my clear, coy words whilst we are apart.

What feelings and emotions are expressed in the descriptions of Equiano’s village? In your opinion, what can readers learn from reading these excerpts of the memoir? Use details from the excerpts to support your answer.
The correct answer to this open question is the following.
The feelings and emotions that are expressed in the descriptions of Equiano’s village are of nostalgia for his birthplace.
In my opinion, what readers can learn from reading these excerpts of the memoir is the fond memories Equiano had for his village, his people, traditions, culture, and customs.
He describes the landmark. A place full of vegetation, where people grew fruits and vegetables. He refers to the clothes the people used. Nothing fancy. Those were simple and comfortable clothes. He remembers that his people traded different artifacts with white people. He mentions some traditions such as marriage and the way the elders punished people who committed any crime.
You can read more about Olaudah Equiano in his autobiography and refers to his life as a slave.
Which best states the central idea of the following passage
Many teenagers often mow lawns, shovel snow, or babysit to make extra
money. But there's one very fun and highly profitable business that young folks
should look into: dog walking. According to a recent study in Business Life
magazine, over 40 percent of dog owners rely on someone else to walk their pet,
and 80 percent of those people would be open to trusting the right teen to do the
job. One 13-year-old who's found success in this industry is Tim Bobo, who "walks
five dogs five times a week, which scores me nearly $100." Tindalso notes that he
may have spread himself a little thin, as his schooling and other activities have
suffered a bit. But that just goes to show that there's plenty of work to go around!
If you're a teen who loves dogs, and you're looking to make a little extra money,
dog walking is certainly worth a look.

Answer:
If you're a teen who loves dogs, and you're looking to make a little extra money, dog walking is certainly worth a look.
Explanation:
The central idea of any given passage is the main theme or point that the writer(s) wants to relay in it. This allows the most important idea or main ideas to be expressed and presents the main topic of what the whole passage is really about.
In the given passage, the author talks about how young people, especially teenagers should look into the dog-walking' business instead of babysitting or shoveling snow for a little extra money. Dog walking, according to the author, is "very fun and highly profitable" and does not require much of anything except being familiar and like dogs. And so, the central idea of the whole passage seems to be that teens who love dogs and would want to make a little extra money should go for the dog-walking business.

My loving people,
We have been persuaded by some that are careful of our safety, to take heed how we commit ourselves to armed multitudes, for fear of treachery; but I assure you I do not desire to live to distrust my faithful and loving people. Let tyrants fear, I have always so behaved myself that, under God, I have placed my chiefest strength and safeguard in the loyal hearts and good-will of my subjects; and therefore I am come amongst you, as you see, at this time, not for my recreation and disport, but being resolved, in the midst and heat of the battle, to live and die amongst you all; [1] to lay down for my God, and for my kingdom, and my people, my honour and my blood, even in the dust. [2] I know I have the body but of a weak and feeble woman; but I have the heart and stomach of a king, and of a king of England too, and think foul scorn that Parma or Spain, or any prince of Europe, should dare to invade the borders of my realm; to which rather than any dishonour shall grow by me, [3] I myself will take up arms, I myself will be your general, judge, and rewarder of every one of your virtues in the field. I know already, for your forwardness you have deserved rewards and crowns; and We do assure you in the word of a prince, they shall be duly paid you. In the mean time, my lieutenant general shall be in my stead, than whom never prince commanded a more noble or worthy subject; not doubting but by your obedience to my general, by your concord in the camp, and your valour in the field, we shall shortly have a famous victory over those enemies [4] of my God, of my kingdom, and of my people.

How does H. G. Wells refute the theory of social Darwinism in The Time Machine?
Answer:
By showing that both the upper and lower classes have evolved into degraded forms .
Explanation:
Social Darwinism is a theory of social selection that seems to infer to the same theory of natural selection the way Charles Darwin had implied in his distribution of plants and animals. This theory may be applied to the concepts of sociology, politics, and economics.
The science-fictional novella "The Time Machine" by H. G. Wells evolves around the theme of time travel and how this concept of social Darwinism also applies to the people n society. But contrary to the way Darwin approaches or shows, Wells refutes this theory when he presents the case of the Morlocks and the Eloi. The Eloi were beautiful and perfect in every way but lazy to do any work. The Morlocks, on the other hand, were primitive and aggressive, with both classes degrading in their trajectory. This is how he refutes the Social Darwinism theory, showing how both classes of the society, upper and lower, have evolved into a much more degrading form from their regular one.

Which revision best corrects the faulty parallelism in this sentence?
Athletes benefit from regular practice, a healthful diet, and they should have a positive attitude.
O A. Change regular practice to practicing regularly.
B. Add eating before a healthful diet.
C. Change they should have a positive attitude to positive in their attitude.
D. Omit they should have.
The correct answer is C. Change they should have a positive attitude to positive in their attitude.
Explanation:
In the sentence "Athletes benefit from regular practice, a healthful diet, and they should have a positive attitude" there is faulty parallelism because the author uses the same structure in "regular practice, a healthful diet" (adjective+ noun) but not in the last element "they should have a positive attitude" (noun+ modal verb+ verb+ adjective+ noun). This means there is no one grammatical pattern, and therefore there is no parallelism. Moreover, this can be corrected by omitting the section "they should have" and using only "a positive attitude" because in this case, all the elements listed would contain an adjective and a noun, which means there is parallelism.
rhetorical analysis for slapstick
Answer:
Slapstick is a type of physical comedy characterized by humour, absurd situations, and vigorous (sometimes violent) actions. The slapstick comic must often be an acrobat, a stunt performer and a magician—a master of uninhibited action and perfect timing.
Outrageous make-believe violence has always been a key attraction of slapstick comedy, and the form took its name from one of its favourite weapons, slapstick. A slapstick was originally a harmless paddle composed of two pieces of wood that slapped together to produce a resounding whack when the paddle struck someone. The slapstick first came into use in the 16th century, when Harlequin, one of the principal characters of the Italian commedia dell’arte, used it on the posteriors of his comic victims.
The rough-and-tumble of slapstick has been a part of low comedy and farce since ancient times, having been a prominent feature of Greek and Roman mime and pantomime, heavily padded clowns exchanged quips and beatings to the delight of the audience.
The Renaissance produced the athletic zanies of the commedia dell’arte and even rougher clowns, such as the hunchbacked, hook-nosed, wife-beating Pulcinella, who survived into the 20th century as the Punch of children’s puppet shows.
Slapstick reached another zenith during the late 19th century in English and American music-hall entertainment and vaudeville, and such English stars as George Formby and Gracie Fields carried its popularity well into the 20th century. Motion pictures provided even greater opportunities for visual gags, and comedians Charlie Chaplin, Harold Lloyd, Buster Keaton, and Mack Sennett’s Keystone Kops introduced such classic routines as the mad chase scene and pie throwing, often made doubly hilarious by speeding up the camera action. Their example was followed in sound films by Laurel and Hardy, the Marx Brothers, and the Three Stooges, whose stage careers predated their films and whose films were frequently revived beginning in the 1960s and were affectionately imitated by modern comedy directors. The best of the slapstick comedians may be said to have turned low humour into high art.
The Three Stooges, American comedy team noted for violent anarchic slapstick and comedy routines rooted in the burlesque tradition. Six men were members of the team throughout the years: Shemp Howard (original name Samuel Horwitz; b. March 17, 1895, New York, New York, U.S.—d. November 23, 1955, Los Angeles, California), Moe Howard (original name Moses Horwitz; b. June 19, 1897, New York City—d. May 4, 1975, Los Angeles), Larry Fine (original name Louis Feinberg; b. October 5, 1902, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania—d. January 24, 1975, Woodland Hills, California), Curly Howard (original name Jerome Horwitz; b. October 22, 1903, New York City—d. January 18, 1952, San Gabriel, California), Joe Besser (b. August 12, 1907, St. Louis, Missouri—d. March 1, 1988, North Hollywood, California), Joe DeRita (original name Joseph Wardell; b. July 12, 1909, Philadelphia—d. July 3, 1993, Woodland Hills).
The Stooges’ comic style was brash and brazen and was characterized by such cartoonishly violent acts as slapping, punching, eye-poking, and hair-pulling, all punctuated by exaggerated sound effects, and they often attacked one another with hammers, saws, and a variety of sharp and blunt objects.

Lencho was a poor farmer. He was very hard-working.Once his harvest was destroyed completely because of hailstorm. He became hopeless because he did not have even a penny , so his family had to starve.Lencho was very simple person with firm faith in God. He hoped that God would help him and make sure that he and his family would not starve. He went to the office and a wrote an appealing letter with confidence to God for help.He described each and every aspect of destruction and reason for seeking His help. He pasted a stamp and mailed through post office addressing to “The God”.In the opinion of Lencho men are dishonest and deceitful. Without any hesitation he wrote a letter again to God after receiving 70 pesos donation from post office employees and remarked them as the bunch of crooks. As he believed that God helps innocent people in distress so he approached the God directly.Even he was not surprised to receive 70 pesos but became very angry that God would not make any mistake to send him 100 pesos so he wrote again for the rest amount. He requested God not to send the money through post as the people in post office were bunch of crooks.━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Answer:
Lencho was a farmer. He was not so poor and not so rich farmer. He was having a great faith in God. This we came to know from his letter addressed to God. He did so for the compensation of his crops. Actually the hail stones destroyed his crops and he thought that now his family would starve throughout the whole year. But he was very religious person, so he decided to ask the God for his help. In his letter to God he asked the God for 100 pesos. But his letter was not reached to God. It were the post office employees who sent the 70 pesos for help. And Lencho called the post office employees as “a bunch of crooks”. While they helped him. Because of this we can say that Lencho was a foolish person too (in the sense of innocence).

Read the passage from "Two Kinds." And I started to play. It was so beautiful. I was so caught up in how lovely I looked that at first I didn’t worry how I would sound. So it was a surprise to me when I hit the first wrong note and I realized something didn’t sound quite right. And then I hit another and another followed that. A chill started at the top of my head and began to trickle down. Yet I couldn’t stop playing, as though my hands were bewitched. I kept thinking my fingers would adjust themselves back, like a train switching to the right track. I played this strange jumble through two repeats, the sour notes staying with me all the way to the end. How is this passage an example of an internal conflict?
This question is missing the options. I've found them online. They are the following:
How is this passage an example of an internal conflict?
a. It describes the narrator's inability to stop playing when she wants to do so.
b. It describes the narrator's unexpected enjoyment of performing in front of an audience.
c. It describes the narrator's thoughts and feelings as she struggles through a poor performance.
d. It describes the results of the narrator's refusal to practice diligently and learn to play the piano correctly.

However, she is determined to not work hard, to not apply herself. The conflicts with her mother lead June to decide that she will remain mediocre for the rest of her life.
Even though she had been taking piano lessons, June was not really taking them seriously. When the time for her first presentation comes, her performance is a fiasco. We get to experience all of her internal conflict as she describes her feelings when she is struggling. June is excited at first. She does enjoy receiving attention. However, that feeling does not last long. Her lack of discipline takes its toll, and June makes several mistakes throughout the performance. She is now frightened and embarrassed, but unable to stop playing. She knows the outcome that awaits her is filled with shame and judgment from the audience and, especially, from her own mother.
