Answer 1

Answer:

After the marketing  department finished  planning the campaign.

Explanation:

A subordinate or dependent clause is a sentence that cannot stand alone because they do not make a complete meaning. Such a clause has to rely on another main clause in order to make complete sense. The first option is a subordinate clause because it simply provides more information about an event. Even though it contains a subject and a verb, does not give the total information that is needed to understand what is being talked about.

Answer:

The field of developmental psychology deals with changes in mental and behavioral performance over time. Although the field began  with a focus on child psychology, it has grown to track changes throughout a lifetime.

Explanation:

The original passage is-

The field of developmental psychology deals with changes in mental and behavioral performance over time, the field began with a focus on child psychology, it has grown to track changes throughout a lifetime.

Now, the problem in the above passage is in the use of the comma between the three independent sentences. To make the passage complete and correct, the first part of the passage will be taken as a single sentence. Then, with the remaining two sentences, the conjunction "although" can be used to present and join the two independent sentences.

Thus, the correct sentence is the second option.

Which sentence demonstrates correct parallel structure?
The meal was not only delicious but also very filling.
The meal was not only delicious and also filled you up.
The meal was not only delicious but very filling as well.

Answers

Answer:

The sentence which demonstrates correct parallel structure is:

A. The meal was not only delicious but also very filling.

Explanation:

Parallelism is the repetition of the same grammatical structure inside a sentence. The use of parallelism makes a sentence sound better and more organized, making it easier to understand.

Among the three sentences we are analyzing here, the one that shows correct parallel structure is the first one. Let's point out the reasons:

- The structure "not only . . . but also . . ." already asks for parallelism. The blanks after each part are supposed to filled in with similar structures;

- "Delicious" is an adjective and, for that reason, we will need another adjective afterwards in order to make it parallel. "Filled you up" can be eliminated here, since it is not an adjective. "Filling" is the correct choice, but the third option places "as well" after it. It is best to use "but also" before it.

What are the values of a and b?

a = 0.4 and b = –0.15
a = –0.4 and b = 0.15
a = 8.6 and b = 14.25
a = –8.6 and b = –14.25

Answers

Answer:

a = –0.4 and b = 0.15

Explanation:

Shanti wrote the predicted values for a data set using the line of best fit y = 2.55x – 3.15. She computed two of the residual values. What are the values of a and b?

Residual values are the difference between Given and predicted value. That is:

Residual Value = Given - Predicted

Taking the values of the table:

a = 4.1 - 4.5 = -0.4

a = -0.4

And b is:

b = 7.2 - 7.05 = 0.15

b = 0.15

That means right answer is:

a = –0.4 and b = 0.15

If a person has income tax questions, the IRS can help you with it.

One way to rewrite the sentence to remove ambiguous and remote references is "The IRS can answer income tax questions that people have."

How can we avoid being ambiguous?

When writing, you should try to be as specific as you can while keeping true to your purpose of writing.

In this case, saying that the IRS can help with questions is ambiguous because we don't know the kind of help that the IRS gives. Saying instead that the IRS can answer these questions is more specific.

6. The place where a line of poetry ends to create rhythm or give a poem a particular
appearance is...
O A Simile
O B Onomatopoeia
C Line Break
D Phrase

Answers

Answer:

C. Line Break

Explanation:

A poem can be defined as a literary work that comprises of written or spoken words that are chosen and arranged carefully in separate lines, often in short lines based on their sound (diction), meaning, and rhythm.

There are different types of poems and these includes the following; free verse, sonnet, ode, elegies, fixed verse, etc.

A line break can be defined as a poetic device used by authors or writers to terminate or end a line of a poem and begin a new line in a poem.

Basically, line breaks differentiates a poet from a prose because it helps both the poet and the reader to clearly understand where and why a line in a poem breaks (ends).

Hence, the place where a line of poetry ends to create rhythm or give a poem a particular appearance is called a line break.

This ultimately implies that, a line break may be governed by sound, rhythm, or meter depending on the choice of a poet. An example of a poetic line break is;

I'm Lanuel! Who are you?

Are you - Lanuel - too?

Yes! Humans are - created in twos.

The text above is intended to present facts that prove that Yan Li Meng's allegations should not be taken seriously, as she does not have sufficient academic and professional background to address them. Yan Li Meng is a researcher who claimed to have proof that the coronavirus was a virus that was purposely developed in a Chinese laboratory. Although her allegations have strengthened arguments that accused china of having provoked the pandemic, in addition to reinforcing xenophobic ideas, a research on Yan Li Meng shows that her academic background does not have the adequate elements to reach this conclusion. Yan Li Meng has no training in virology and has not even worked in science, which shows that her claims have no scientific basis, are not true and serve only as fake news.

The Ancient Greeks were incredibly imaginative and innovative in their depictions of scenes from The Odyssey, painted onto vases, kylikes, wine jugs, or mixing bowls. Many of Homer’s epic scenes can be found on these objects such as the encounter between Odysseus and the Cyclops Polyphemus and the battle with the Suitors. It is clear that in the Greek culture, The Odyssey was an influential and eminent story with memorable scenes that have resonated throughout generations of both classical literature enthusiasts and art aficionados and collectors. We present a brief slideshow of images that appear in Barry B. Powell’s new free verse translation of The Odyssey.

Melian relief with Penelope and Eurykleia.

After the fight against the suitors, Eurykleia tries to persuade Penelope that her husband has returned. Shown here, the mourning Penelope sits in a traditional pose with her hand to her forehead and her legs crossed. Her head is veiled. She stares gloomily downwards, seated on a padded stool beneath which is a basket for yarn. The purpose of these terracotta reliefs, found in different parts of the Roman world, is unclear. Answers

Answer:

The poem 'The Road Not Taken' by Robert Frost denotes the idea of making choices and standing by them in life. The poem begins with the speaker standing on the verge of two diverse roads and he is in dilemma about choosing the right one. This fork represents the situations that humans undergo in life where they have to make a decision and that every decision brings about a turn/change in the pathways of life. Thus, it ultimately gives form to our life. The speaker chooses one and calls the other as 'the road not taken.' He moves ahead with the choice he made and he says that now, even if feels to choose another, he cannot. This conveys the idea that our present choices or decisions determine our future which cannot be altered once the choice is made. Thus, the choice must be made wisely, and thereafter, one should stand by it as regretting makes no sense later.

- He obtained a law degree.

See how short and repetitive the sentences are? By putting them together, we have:

- Raised by a rich family, he graduated in France, where he obtained a law degree.

DUE TODAY PLEASE HELP ME). Only Answer If You Can Truly Help and I'll Give You Brainliest). A debatable topic, one that has two or more sides. It should be a topic that's appropriate for educational purposes and that would interest a broad audience. Consider choosing a topic on which people can take action. You may choose from these topics: 1) violence in video games or movies does or does not influence young people. 2) Using animals as test subjects for medications is ethical or unethical. 3) Argue what is the best way to reduce homelessness in the United States. 4) Green energy is or is not a realistic alternative to fossil fuels. 5) Choose a local issue such as funding cuts or increases for public services like libraries, parks, police, or fire service. 6) Choose a local issue such as homelessness, environmental problems ( waste, water shortages, etc. ) or lack of mental health services. Or, if a different topic comes to mind and meets the criteria, you may use it. Once you have chosen a topic, do a quick online search to see if there is enough information available about it. If the topic is so broad that you think you cannot do it justice in a single paper, try narrowing it. One way to narrow a topic is to ask yourself questions to which you would like to learn the answers. For example, suppose the broad topic is this: Alternative medicines - helpful, unhelpful, or harmful? You might write down questions that make you curious, for example: 1) What types of alternatives medicines exist? 2) What ailments are alternative medicines claimed to be effective for? 3) What studies have been done about alternative medicines? 4) What results have doctors and patients reported? Such questions can guide your research. 1) Write your topic. 2) Write two or more questions that you would like answered about your topic. 3) If you wish to narrow your topic, write the narrow version here. 4) Phrase your topic as a research question that your project will answer. What do you learn about Miss Prism from this excerpt The Importance of Being Earnest.

Answers

Answer:

She believes in adherence to societal expectations.

Explanation:

Oscar Wilde's comedy play "The Importance of Being Ernest" revolves around the story of two men, Algernon "Algy" Moncrieff and John "Jack" Worthing. The play follows the men through their desire to enjoy some excitement in their lives, for which they made up names and identities to be able to enjoy some 'downtime'.

In the given excerpt of the play, the character of Miss Prism is revealed to be the one who placed Jack in the bag. But when jack revealed the truth and called her "mother", Miss Prism "recoil[ed] in indignant astonishment". This reaction seems to suggest that she believes in strict adherence to society's expectations, especially of women. That was why she did not really acceptable to be called "mother" as she's still "unmarried."

Thus, the correct answer is the third option.

Answer:

She believes in adherence to societal expectations.

There is nothing truly stopping me from succeeding in life but there is a barrier for me that is quite hard to overcome. I was diagnosed with ADHD about a year ago and I decided not to go the medicated route because in my head I thought if I had been living with it my whole life why do something now. That's when I didn't realize how bad it really was. Now I am waiting to receive a prescription so I can focus and pursue my goals and dreams easier. In case some of you didn't know how ADHD affects daily life as well as succeeding in life, I literally can't focus on something that does not interest me, I zone out often, I'm always stressed ( partial anxiety issues but that's off-topic ), it affects my sleeping schedule as well, etc... So it's not truly stopping me but it is making me struggle with the tasks I need to do to succeed.
