Answer: C. Smell of mildew in a Vietnamese village.

Explanation:

This book is based on the experiences of Tim O'brien during the Vietnam war.

He aimed to show just how the soldiers felt during the war as well as the need to know the environment of Vietnam in other to be more knowledgeable about the positions of the enemy.

The geography of the coastline, the fear the soldiers faced during wartime and the vivid description of the climate are all therefore, integral parts of the story.

The smell of mildew in a Vietnamese village would be the least related because it neither speaks of the environment nor of the feelings of the soldiers.

Ultimately, in Romeo & Juliet, by William Shakespeare, blame can be placed on many individuals and on mere situations. It has been argued, however, that the major reasons for Romeo and Juliet’s deaths are the involvement of Friar Lawrence, fate, irrationality and poor communication. Perhaps if Romeo and Juliet had met later in life during a time when they were more mature and could concentrate on achieving a lasting relationship while not sacrificing their lives or their families’ lives, Shakespeare's play would have not ended so tragically. Their young love nonetheless ended early without much foresight by either character. Juliet’s great ruse was not communicated in time to Romeo by Friar Lawrence, and Lawrence’s superficial and half‐hearted attempts to inform Romeo only worsened the situation. Lawrence’s suspicions of Romeo’s self‐proclaimed feelings, and his decision to respond to Romeo and Juliet’s pleas with irrational thought put the young couple in danger. All in all, it was fate that brought the young lovers together and fate that tragically ended their lives. These reasons should be considered responsible for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. Conclusively, it was Friar Lawrence who is most responsible for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet.

Does one size fit all
this is for professional communication
not for clothes or stuff

Answers

Answer:

One size does not fit all. As seen simply through a certain teaching style - not all students in that classroom are going to get that teaching style. When it comes to professional communication, one size does not fit all. An example would be how someone from another country would communicate with lets say someone from the United States. In America, people greet others with a smile, hello and hand shake. People from other countries might not great others that way.

Another example for communication using the example from above, not everyone will view professional communication the same way either whether it might be a cultural or even an age difference. When someone is talking, an American might think the way to show you're a good listener is by responding and throwing in comments with the conversation whereas someone from another country might think by just giving good posture and being quiet is a good listener.

Using the "age" example, two teens might think it's normal to have a conversation while playing around on their phones. However, if a teen is talking with someone older and they're playing on their phone, the older person might consider this to be rude.

In all, one size does not fit especially when it comes to professional communication.

5. What is the narrator foreshadowing at the end of paragraph 2

Answers

The narrator is foreshadowing the fire at the end of paragraph two in the story ‘The Leap’, written by Louise Erdrich.

What is foreshadowing?

Foreshadowing is a literary method in which a writer employs clues in form of words, phrases, and sentences to indicate a future occurrence without giving away the storyline. This approach adds to the suspense and drama of the tale as it unfolds.

What details foreshadow the fire?

Details like “I hear the crackle,” “the stitches burn,” and “a thread of fire” at the conclusion of paragraph two hint at the impact of the fire that the narrator will describe in the short story's conclusion.

Thus, in the short story "The Leap", the fire is foreshadowed by the narrator's memory of the smell of smoke and crackle of flame.

The houyhnhnms cause Gulliver to .

Answers

Hi what language is this?

The Houyhnhnms cause Gulliver to hate himself.

Explanation:

He compares himself to the human-like but beastly Yahoos, who are held in subjection by the Houyhnhnms, and learns to hate men for not being horses. Here, Swift's satire is double-edged; the cold Houyhnhnms are imperfect, just as the Yahoos are. Gulliver is disabled by his self-hate; he becomes too critical and isolated to love even his own family.

As the holiday season ended, Bertha Berger struggled to put on her blue jeans. They seemed much tighter than usual, so she stepped on the bathroom scale and received the bad news. She had never seen such a high number on the little scale, so she resolved to change. That day she threw out all the junk food in her fridge and went grocery shopping. Determined to lose weight, she bought low-fat versions of all her favorite foods. She had a low-sodium bacon sandwich with a diet soda for lunch. The sandwich contained over 1,200 calories but had very little salt. For dinner she ate two turkey burgers with reduced-fat cheese. Though she had consumed over 2,000 calories, Bertha felt like she deserved a reward. So for dessert she ate two low-calorie ice-cream sandwiches. And before bed she ate a bag of baked potato chips, which are healthier than normal chips. She dipped them in low-fat cream cheese. Bertha had consumed around 6,500 calories that day, but she felt skinny. When she woke up the next morning, she stepped on the scale. She couldn't wait to see how successful her diet had been.

Q. 7.

a). You must revise the timetable. (Active Voice)

b). Cricket is being played by someone. (Passive voice)

c). English is spoken by people all over the world. (Passive voice).

d). It was written by whom. (Passive voice)

e). 'sit' is an intransitive verb and thus, it does not have an object.

f). A beautiful song had been sung by Priyanka.(Passive Voice)

Explanation:

Indirect speech is described as a form of speech that is used to express the content of a declaration or any other thing that another has said using discrete words. It helps in conveying the same message using distinct words and often a change in tense(except for the universal truth as given in 'b' part of the first question('it rains in July')).

Active Voice is the form of grammatical construction in which the subject itself performs the action and leads the sentence while in passive voice, the sentence is led by the object and action of the verb. In the active voice, the subject is the primary emphasis of the sentence while in the passive voice, the subject receives the action. But the passive of an 'intransitive' verb cannot be formed because it does not have an object.
