three problems to develop the school

Answers

Answer 1

Explanation:

Classroom Size

Many areas of the country are facing classrooms that are literally busting out at the seams. A report at NEA Today two years ago discussed how schools in Georgia, in the midst of major funding cuts for schools, had no choice but to lift all class size limits to accommodate students with the faculty the school system could still afford to keep. More recently, Fairfax County in Virginia has been looking into a proposal to increase classroom sizes in the face of significant budget cuts. The Board of Education in South Carolina is also weighing their options in this area.

Poverty

Technorati reported last fall that 22 percent of the children in the U.S. live at or below poverty level. American Graduate defines poverty as a family of four with an annual income level of $23,050 or lower. American Graduate also cites a report from the Southern Education Foundation, which shows in 17 states across the U.S., low-income students now comprise the majority of public school students in those states. Some estimates put poverty levels for public school students at 25% in the not-so-distant future.

Family Factors

Family factors also play a role in a teacher’s ability to teach students. Principals and teachers agree that what is going on at home will impact a student’s propensity to learn. Divorce, single parents, poverty, violence and many other issues are all challenges a student brings to school every day. While some teachers and administrators try to work with children in less than ideal family environments, they can only do so much – especially when parents are often not willing to partner with the schools to provide for the children.

In a few sentences compare Tito and Gus. Tito and Gus are two kids in middle school living in a tough neighborhood. They just choose to act about it differently. Tell me how they are different, the things they do, how they act, choices they make, etc.

Answers

Answer:

Tito is more intelligent than Gus because he makes a great effort to have good grades at school. But Gus is smarter when it comes to social skills.

Gus is far more interested in making quick money than going to school.

Tito wants to leave the neighborhood, whereas Gus wants to stay.

Explanation:

Here are some rules that are helpful when making comparisons:

For an adjective that has one syllable, add -er at ht end (smarter). If it has two syllables and it ends in -y, change the end to -ier (happier)For adjectives of two syllables or more, use the word "more" + adjective (Tito is more intelligent than Gus).Phrases such as “a lot”, “much”, “a little”, “slightly” and “far”, when placed before “more / less than” help highlight the distinctions. The words but, while, and whereas are also used to compare and contrast ideas.

In literature, many characters struggle. A common theme is man vs. himself. Choose a character from a book or short story you have read and explain his or her internal struggle. To earn credit for this forum, state the name of the character, the title of the work, and the author. Your response should be 3-5 sentences long and show that you’ve thought about the topic/question at hand. Please be aware we are looking for YOUR PERSONAL OPINION and there is not a single “correct answer.”

Answers

Answer:

"The Great Gatsby" is a novel by F. Scott Fitzgerald in which the main character, Gatsby, develops the theme of man vs. self. This type of conflict takes place inside the character, so to speak, concerning his struggles with his feelings, decisions, and doubts. With Gatsby, the struggle lies in what he truly is and what he wishes to be. Gatsby lies to the world about his money and his business, but he cannot lie to himself. Thus, he is constantly wearing a metaphorical mask, constantly struggling with his own self-worth. In his desperation to be accepted, the mask falls. When accused by another character of being a criminal, Gatsby can no longer contain himself. If he did not care, perhaps the consequences wouldn't be so terrible. But he cares, a lot. Inside, Gatsby is still insecure - and that is what costs him everything he ever dreamed.

Explanation:

Take the answer above as an example. If you do not wish to write about "The Great Gatsby," feel free to choose a different character and literary work and use the answer as a template.

Conflicts, in literature, are the struggle between two opposing forces. There are external conflicts, such as character vs. character, or character vs. nature. There are also internal conflicts, such as character vs. self, which is the one we must develop in this answer.

In at least 500 words, write a reflective essay on a text or texts you've read that focuses on South Africa. What did you learn and how did the readings change or enlarge your world view? Make sure to reference all of the works you read.

Answers

Answer:

South Africa is a country located at the southern tip of Africa. It has had a rich colonial history since the seventeenth century. In 1652 the Dutch arrived who founded a refreshment post on the Cape. After a century and a half of Dutch colonization, the Cape Colony was taken over by the United Kingdom. As a result, a large number of Dutch-speaking settlers, known as Boers, migrated inland with the Great Trek and founded several Boer states, of which the South African Republic and the Orange Free State were ultimately the most important. These republics were conquered by the British in 1902 in the Second Boer War and united together with the Cape Colony and Natal in 1910 to form South Africa. In the 20th century, South Africa was overshadowed by apartheid, a system of racial segregation that systematically disadvantaged the non-white population. In 1990, apartheid was abolished and in 1994 Nelson Mandela was elected South Africa's first black president.  It is a country with diverse population groups and eleven official languages, including Afrikaans, which is related to Dutch. The country is a parliamentary republic with three capitals and is one of the most developed countries in the continent, but poverty and crime rates remain high.
