CAPULET: How now, my headstrong! where have you been gadding?
JULIET: Where I have learn'd me to repent the sin
Of disobedient opposition
To you and your behests, and am enjoin'd
By holy Laurence to fall prostrate here,
And beg your pardon: pardon, I beseech you!
Henceforward I am ever ruled by you.
CAPULET: Send for the county; go tell him of this:
I'll have this knot knit up to-morrow morning.
JULIET: I met the youthful lord at Laurence' cell;
And gave him what becomed love I might,
Not step o'er the bounds of modesty.

Read the poem and answer the questions.
There are so many things to do to-day
In city, field and street,
And people are going everywhere,
With quickly hurrying feet.
Some are ploughing and sowing the seed.
And some are reaping the grain:
And some, who worked the whole night through,
Are coming home again.
Over the hills the shepherd goes,
While in the busy town
People and carts and motor cars
Are running up and down.
And everywhere they come and go
In sun and rain and sleet,
That we may have warm clothes to wear,
And food enough to eat.

Which lines from Ovid’s "Pyramus and Thisbe" contain an example of characterization?
ringed by the tall brick walls Semíramis
had built—so we are told.
If you searched all
the East, you'd find no girl with greater charm
than Thisbe;
The wall their houses shared had one thin crack,
which formed when they were built and then was left;
when first light
had banished night's bright star-fires from the sky
and sun had left the brine-soaked meadows dry,
Answer:
If you searched all the East, you'd find no girl with greater charm than Thisbe;
Explanation:
Characterization is the description or representation of the characters in a narrative. This description of the characters in a story can be direct or indirect. Direct characterization is used in the description of Thisbe above because the poet plainly tells us that Thisbe was a girl with great charm. Readers do not have to wonder or think about Thisbe and who she really was because her character was explicitly described.
Indirect characterization allows readers to deduce the true personality of characters from the context of the story.
Matthew lives on a farm he takes care of flock of geese if each goose eats eight ounces of cracked corn each day how many ounces of corn will he need to feed seven geese for two days?
Answer:
Is this English or Maths?
To learn about the ounces of corn required to feed a flock of geese for two days, multiplication is done. The correct answer is 112.
By using the following steps, one can determine the corn consumption by the flock of geese:
A goose requires eight ounces of cracked corn every day.
1. The total corn consumption for seven geese in one day
8 ounces* 7 geese= 56 ounces of corn.
2. The total corn consumption
in two days for seven geese is obtained by multiplying the total corn consumption in a day and number of days, i.e. 2 days.
56 ounces * 2 days= 112 ounce of corn
Hence, 112 ounces of corn is required to feed seven geese for two days.

Explanation:
Parallelism is the repetition of the same grammatical structure inside a sentence. The purpose of using parallel sentences is to make them sound better as well as to make them easier to understand. Parallelism is often used when we provide examples or list items in a sentence.
Let's use sentence 1 as an example:
1. We have begun to exercise more, to get regular check-ups, and dieting.
We are listing the things we have begun to do. Out of the three things listed, two use the structure "to + verb", but one uses "verb + ing". Thus, the structure is not parallel. To correct it and make the sentence sound better, we can make them all use the structure "to + verb):
1. We have begun to exercise more, to get regular check-ups, and to diet.
We live in a world that’s confusing at best

You have read passages from the novels The Georges and the Jewels and Black Beauty: The Autobiography of a Horse. Both were written in the first-person point of view.
Write an essay in which you compare the way the authors use the first-person point of view to develop the characters.
Be sure to cite specific examples from both passages.
Both stories are below! :D
Answer:
In this essay I will talk about the passages from the Georges and the Jewels and Black Beauty: The Autobiography of a Horse. These two passages talk about horses riding and teaching in a scenic matter and in a first person view of the trainer and the horse.
With the the first passage (the Georges and the Jewels) they develope the characters by the way they enter the scene, actions they committed and how they talk to the other characters. You can tell the dad is very passionate about horse riding, wise and has been doing this for quite some time. He's wise and passionate because of the talk he has with Abby in paragraphs 8,9 and 10. He is also done it for a long time with the evidence "I started riding when I was 3 and started helping my dad train the horses when I was 8...". Abby is a child that doubts herself in her ability to train this certain, thinking its impossible. Hou can tell it has bucked her multiple times when she depicts the situation of when you get bucked perfectly and switched into a situation she was in herself. You can see that in these lines: "...you might lie there, as i did, with the wind knocked out of you and you think about how nice it would be to not get back on, because that horse is just dedicated to bucking you off. So that what I did..." This lassage describes characters in a less obvious way. Now on to the next passage.
In the second passage depicts less of the characteristics but more of the experience of the specific character. The horse mentioned in the story is a younger male horse who debates on whether the horse back riding industry is good or bad throughout the passage. He talks as if he is talking in past tense or telling a story. He develops throughout the passage by giving cons then debunking them with pros. At first the horse seems to think that horse back riding is bad but then he changes his mind as seen in: "...and under your chin and no way in the world you can get rid if that nasty hard thing; it is very bad. Yes, very bad. Or atleast I thought so..." The "Master" is described as a gentle and kind person. He was nice to the horse and placed stuff on and "in" the horse quite nicely and less rough. You can see this in: ",what with the nice oats, and what with my masters pats, nice words and gentle ways..." This passage described characters by how they talk and treat other characters. Now I'm going to compare the two and close out the essay
These two passages describe characters in similar and different ways. As we can tell they both describe the characters by dialogue and how other people talk about them. Black Beauty is in the perspective of a horse so the impression of people is different than of a human. In the G.A.T.J they talk more about the father and daughters relationship and how the father knows alot about the horses. That is the end of the essay and how Black Beauty and the G.A.T.J compare in terms of character development.
I hope this helps.
The comparison of the way the authors use the first-person point of view to develop the characters is:
Through their actions.Through their speech.Through their introduction in the scene. What is First Person Point of View? This refers to a writing perspective where an author makes a narration from the perspective of one person using the pronouns "Me", "I", "We", etc.
With this in mind and from the comparison of the texts, there is the use of direct and indirect characterization to describe the personalities and actions of each character.

Explanation:
Please find the complete question in the attached file.
Imperialism implies that such a country and nation must be taken out by another international nation with the only goal of getting economic, geopolitical, social, or some other benefits.
Consequently, alternatives A and B don't fit because they oppose imperialism and don't support the concept. Option C is not relevant since it is exclusively for English.

The arrest of Elizabeth Proctor for witchcraft at the end of Act II is an example of which element? A. Climax B. Motif C. Exposition D. Cliffhanger
Answer:
C.
Explanation:
The arrest of Elizabeth Proctor for witchcraft at the end of Act II is an example of exposition.
An exposition in a story can be defined as background information about the settings, characters, events, etc. The word exposition is derived from the Latin word expositionem which means to show forth. So, the part of an exposition in a story is to relay background information.
In The Crucible, the exposition is seen in both Acts I and Acts II. So, the arrest of Elizabeth Proctor, the arrest of innocent and harmless ones, serves as a piece of background information for the rest of the play.
So, option C is correct.
