Read the excerpts from Queen Elizabeth's speeches. Excerpts from Queen Elizabeth I speeches. The first is from her Address to the Troops at Tilbury. The second is from her Response to Parliament's Request That She Marry. How does the rhetorical appeal used in these excerpts from Queen Elizabeth's Address to the Troops at Tilbury and Response to Parliament's Request That She Marry compare? Both use an appeal to logos by providing a reason to support her purpose. Both use an appeal to ethos by providing a reason why she should be trusted. Both use an appeal to logos by encouraging her audience to show strength. Both use an appeal to ethos by listing credentials to support her credibility.

Answers

Answer:

Both use an appeal to logos by providing a reason to support her purpose.

Explanation:

Queen Elizabeth, I had been the monarch of the British throne without any husband or even a legitimate heir to succeed her to the throne. Not only that, she was a woman and these issues would crop up as a national security question for her enemies or even subjects.

But in both speeches, she made an appeal to logic by asserting her capability to be not only the leader of the kingdom but also as a woman and without a husband. She presents herself as a strong leader and fully aware and capable of leading the nation even during wars. In her response to the marriage issue, she replied, "I will never in that matter conclude anything that shall be prejudicial to the realm, for the weal, good and safety whereof I will never shun to spend my life." And in the speech to the Tilbury troops, she declared, "I know I have the body of a weak and feeble woman, but I have the heart and stomach of a king, and of a king of England too."

Thus, the correct answer is the first option.

Which statement best paraphrases the controlling idea in this introduction
paragraph?

On average, 28 percent of passengers on an elementary school bus are in kindergarten or first grade. Most bus drivers allow these
students to sit anywhere they like, but I think this makes no sense. These kids are so little that it's hard for drivers to see them in the back of the bus. Plus, they should be sitting with kids their own age and not older students. In my opinion, kindergarten and first-grade students should all be required to sit near the front of the bus.

A. School bus passengers should be more considerate of younger kids by helping them get on and off with their backpacks.

B. When kindergarten and first- grade students ride the school bus, they should sit with their siblings.

C. School bus drivers should require the youngest passengers to sit at the front of the bus.

D. School bus drivers have a hard time saying small children who sit near the back of the bus.

The answer is D. World's connotations affect the reader's overall understanding of the writing.

The Links:https://www.answer.com

Answer: D) World's connotations affect the reader's overall understanding of the writing.

Explanation: Connotation is essentially synonymous with intention in logic and semantics. Connotation is frequently compared with denotation, which is synonymous with extension. Alternatively, the word's connotation can be thought of as the collection of all its potential referents. (as opposed to merely the actual ones). The denotation of a word is the collection of things it refers to; the connotation is what it suggests about the things it refers to. ( a second level of meanings is termed connotative ). The common definition of dog is a four-legged canine predator. As a result, saying "You are a dog" would imply that you were ugly or aggressive rather than actually referring to you as a canine. When attempting to achieve a neutral point of view, it is often beneficial to avoid words with strong connotations (particularly pejorative or disparaging ones). One of the major reasons for using euphemisms is to have more positive connotations or fewer negative ones. Terry Eagleton defines semiotic closure as "a sealed world of ideological stability that repels the disruptive, decentered forces of language in the name of an imaginary unity." A certain covert aggression ranks signs into a rigidly hierarchical order... The process of forging'representations' always includes this arbitrary closing of the signifying chain, restricting the free play of the signifier to a spuriously determinate meaning that can then be received as natural and inevitable by the subject."

How do competing notions of what a utopian society should look like lead to conflict?
Relating to the book Fahrenheit 451

Answers

I read the book a long time ago but here’s my best answer:

The competing notions of what a utopian society should look like lead to conflict in Fahrenheit 451. The governments idea of a perfect society is one where they are in complete control, and individuals can not express personal freedoms. However inevitably you can not design “a perfect society" for an imperfect species. So naturally a struggle arises between the main character, Montag, who believes in the freedom of self expression, and the government. It is this clash of ideology’s that causes all conflict. Ultimately it this leads to death, destruction, and chaos through the novel.

Have you ever experienced a time when you couldn't really describe something you saw in a way that others could understand? If so, you may understand why some experts think eyewitness testimony is unreliable as evidence in scientific inquiries and trials. New insights into human memory suggest human memories are really a mixture of many non-factual things.First, memory is vague. Imagine your room at home or a classroom you see every day. Most likely, you could describe the room very generally. You could name the color of the walls, the floors, the decorations. But the image you describe will never be as specific or detailed as if you were looking at the actual room. Memory tends to save a blurry image of what we have seen rather than specific details. So when a witness tries to identify someone, her brain may recall that the person was tall, but not be able to say how tall when faced with several tall people. There are lots of different kinds of "tall."Second, memory uses general knowledge to fill in gaps. Our brains reconstruct events and scenes when we remember something. To do this, our brains use other memories and other stories when there are gaps. For example, one day at a library you go to quite frequently, you witness an argument between a library patron and one of the librarians. Later, when telling a friend about the event, your brain may remember a familiar librarian behind the desk rather than the actual participant simply because it is recreating a familiar scene. In effect, your brain is combining memories to help you tell the story.Third, your memory changes over time. It also changes the more you retell the story. Documented cases have shown eyewitnesses adding detail to testimony that could not have been known at the time of the event. Research has also shown that the more a witness's account is told, the less accurate it is. You may have noticed this yourself. The next time you are retelling a story, notice what you add, or what your brain wants to add, to the account. You may also notice that you drop certain details from previous tellings of the story. With individual memories all jumbled up with each other, it is hard to believe we ever know anything to be true. Did you really break your mother's favorite vase when you were three? Was that really your father throwing rocks into the river with you when you were seven? The human brain may be quite remarkable indeed. When it comes to memory, however, we may want to start carrying video cameras if we want to record the true picture.Which line from the text best explains why the author suggests we start carrying video cameras? You may understand why some experts think eyewitness testimony is unreliable The next time you are retelling a story, notice what you add With individual memories all jumbled up with each other The human brain may be quite remarkable indeed In english grade 3 what do you mean by CVCE Vincent's pie recipe calls for 5 ounces of pecans and 7 ounces of walnuts.
