Amy woke up cheerfully and checked the calendar to be sure it was the right day. It was her 16th birthday! She had been planning the party for weeks and it was finally ready. The invites were sent out to her 4 friends, the decorations were set up, the cake had arrived, the table was set, and the music was full blast. She had dreamed of this day her whole life and her dream would finally come true at 5:00pm. But come 6:30pm, there was still nobody to be seen. She thought they might've all been riding together and got stuck. She called them but no one answered. Two hours later, there was still no one around and Amy was left alone on her birthday. Her friends had ditched her.
Amy woke up the next morning depressed and sluggish. She was so disappointed and angry with her friends. She spent the whole day sketching on her porch when her friend Laura came up to her with her 3 other friends and exclaimed, "Why aren't you dressed? We're leaving in an hour!" Amy was confused. They missed her birthday, ignored her calls, and now they were telling her they were leaving. "We need to go soon if we're going to get a good spot at the concert," said Laura. At this point, Amy asked them, "What the hell are you talking about?" Laura grabbed her phone and pointed to a text explaining that they had tickets to go see their favorite band at the Hollywood Bowl. But the message was sent to a "Sammuel Redman." Amy pointed this out to Laura and they realized that she sent the information to the wrong person.
Laura apologized and Amy hustled into her birthday dress. They spent all night at the concert and had a great time.
