Answer 1

The correct answer is B) Selena had a surprise when she attempted to duplicate a dish she learned in culinary school.

The best way to rewrite the sentence to avoid repetition is "Selena had a surprise when she attempted to duplicate a dish she learned in culinary school."

The best way to express an idea is to be clear, specific, and direct. In good writing and good speech, we do not need to be redundant. We have to be direct to never confuse the reader. So we have to double-check our writing and see if there are grammar or spelling mistakes and if we put the sentence in the correct order to be understood.

Tendrils of smoke encircled the terrified girl, as she gingerly stepped towards the intimidating door.

It stood, in magnificent glory, its brass handle simply beckoning her to turn its handle and venture inside.
The eerie strangeness of it all was almost palpable, filling the girls stomach with dread.

As her fingertips grasped the handle, the door made a loud creak, sending her flying backwards and having to recompose herself.
She took a deep breath, and stepped inside, feeling the weight of the situation disappear as she was surrounded by light.

As she regained consciousness, she realised she was in a snowy forest, the white snowflakes gracefully dancing and landing on her pale face.
The creatures of the day had long since burrowed in their homes, the nocturnal creatures curled up in their own alcove.

Time stood still in that beautiful forest, it was as though the forest had taken a paintbrush and painted an image of its own.

The creation of business value is the goal of innovation. Value can be described in a variety of ways, including cost reduction, the development of completely new goods and services, and small adjustments to already existing ones.

According to our study, children under the age of five use electronic devices at an alarmingly high rate of 80.3%. The average amount of screen time found in this study is also longer than what is advised. To minimize their children's exposure to devices, parents must be aware of the potential health risks.

Which detail best supports the inference that James Watt could not have made the improvement to his steam engine without the assistance of Matthew Boulton? The Steam Engine James Watt, who secured the position as a maker of scientific instruments in the University of Glasgow, proposed an idea for improving the existing steam engine, which was used for pumping mines. For a long time, owing to a lack of money, he had difficulty in establishing the merits of his improvements. Finally, he formed a partnership with Matthew Boulton, a wealthy and energetic man who lived at Birmingham, England. They began the manufacture of steam engines at Birmingham, under the firm name of Boulton and Watt. This partnership was very successful. Watt supplied the inventions; Boulton furnished the money and attended to the business. Before the time of Watt, the steam engine was exclusively a steam pump—slow and wasteful of fuel. Watt made it a quick, powerful, and efficient engine, requiring only a fourth as much fuel as before. Under his first patent, the engine was still used only as a steam pump, but his later improvements adapted it for driving stationary machinery of all kinds. The commercial success of his engine was soon fully established.

Answers

Answer:

Watt supplied the inventions; Boulton furnished the money and attended to the business.

The detail which best supports the inference that James Watt could not have made the improvement to his steam engine without the assistance of Matthew Boulton is:

Watt supplied the inventions; Boulton furnished the money and attended to the business.

What is an Inference?

This refers to the use of evidence which are formed from a set of premise to come to a conclusion about something.

With this in mind and from the given text, we can see that the detail which was used by the author to support the inference that there could not have been an improvement to the steam engine is that Watt and Boulton were in partnership.

can someone write a 4-5 argumentive essay about teachers being allowed to carry guns, if that doesnt work then do schools having armed guards.

Answers

Answer: I strongly believe teachers should have easy access to a gun or other firearms. With proper training, a gun could save lives in an emergency or life-or-death situation. School shooters are rare, but in the event where you need to save your life, a gun is the perfect solution. If teachers were trained to use a gun properly, he/she could save the lives of students, and themselves, in a responsible manner. However, a gun wouldn’t just be granted upon them. A teacher running around with a free gun could be dangerous to the students or other staff members. We would need to be careful with the teachers access to gun use.

Answer:

I think that teachers should have access to firearms for protection ONLY. School shootings happen daily and having teachers who are trained and know how to properly use a firearm could save lives. The firearm should be locked in a cabinet or a spot that only the teacher knows with some sort of lock that only the teacher knows how to unlock. Theyre should also be some sort of contract the teacher signs that makes them agree to only use the firearm in absolute emergency.

School shootings happen daily all over the world and they take many lives. Not all shooters are caught and brought to justice having some sort of protection can lower the chances of the shooter escaping. The students would most likely feel safer with some sort of protection agaist an intruder. There have been 22 school shootings this year. There have been 114 school shootings since 2018. Think how many less shootings can happen if there is some sort of protection against the shooters.every year, more than 3,500 children and teens are shot and killed and 15,000 more are shot and injured. An estimated 3 million children in the US are exposed to shootings per year. Witnessing shootings—whether in their schools, their communities or their homes–can have a devastating impact. Children exposed to violence, crime, and abuse are more likely to abuse drugs and alcohol; suffer from depression, anxiety, and posttraumatic stress disorder; fail or have difficulties in school; and engage in criminal activity. The children of this generation are going to be the next people running the world is that really what we want for our future as the human race?

Of course proper training is required before firearm use. Proper training can ensure the students and staff safety that way no accidental injuries happen. Proper training can also prepare the teacher/gaurds for how the firearm will react when going off, and can ensure that no damages are done to the building. As ive prevously mentioned that shootings in anywere can cause trauma and that can serously affect someone mentally and affect there future. Training and education on the firearms can save many lives and prevent many injuries.

The firearm should obvously kept out of reach of the students, either hidden in a hard to reach place that only the teacher knows and/or have some sort of lock that only the teacher knows how to unlock. This will ensure the safety of the children, a firearm in the hands of children can be dangerouse. There also needs to be a sighned document agreeing to only use the firearm in absolute emergency and if that agreement is broken the school should be allowed to sue. if the students have to put trust in the teacher so should the rest of the school and school district/system.

There are risks, as we've seen kids are smart, smarter than we let on. There is alot of trust to put it in not only the teachers but the kids as well. however the pros outway the cons by a long shot, and I personally think its worth taking that risk.

What is a theme?

In contemporary literary studies, a theme is a central topic, subject, or message within a narrative.Themes can be divided into two categories: a work's thematic concept is what readers "think the work is about" and its thematic statement being "what the work says about the subject".Themes are often distinguished from premises.

The most common contemporary understanding of theme is an idea or point that is central to a story, which can often be summed in a single word (for example, love, death, betrayal). Typical examples of themes of this type are conflict between the individual and society; coming of age; humans in conflict with technology; nostalgia; and the dangers of unchecked ambition.A theme may be exemplified by the actions, utterances, or thoughts of a character in a novel. It may differ from the thesis—the text's or author's implied worldview.
