Pls write 2 paragraphs on pilgrims and puritans. Pls get real facts that make sense thank you.
Answer:
Read explanation!
Explanation:
Pilgrims were seperatists who settled in Plymouth, Massachussets. British citizens were required to attend the Church of England, and not doing so was treasonous. A group of farmers worshipped in secret and called themselves the seperatists. They were hunted and persecuted for rejecting the Church of England. Eventually, they left Britain to find a new place where they could live without having to worship a specific religion. They set off to Plymouth on a boat with William Bradford leading them. About half of the pilgrims on the boat died of illnesses and starvation during the winter.
While the pilgrims thought that the only way to escape their religion was to leave Britain, the puritains wanted to reform the church. They wanted to start a form of worship the congregational way. In a congregational church, people worship Jesus Christ and there is no prayer book. The puritans also traveled to America, but they already had a large amount of money. They thought that owning land in America was a great investment. They were set out to create an ideal English church outside of Britain.
